Hamas Dumps Bashar Assad
The long romance between Hamas and Syrian dictator Bashar Assad has all but come to an end. Like in many relationships, it isn’t yet officially over but they both know it’s just about done and are setting up their Match.com accounts.
In the words of one Hamas official in the Gaza Strip, “There are no more Hamas leaders in Damascus.” Khaled Mashaal, the leader of the terrorist group’s political bureau in Damascus, has packed up his bags and left and isn’t coming back.
Hamas is now looking for new places for its political bureau and has many options: the Gaza Strip, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Sudan, Turkey, etc. As we previously reported, Khaled Mashaal will not ask for another term. It is now believed that he will be given a “high position in the Muslim Brotherhood movement.” He will probably be replaced by Abu Marzook, a former member of the American Muslim Brotherhood, who recently traveled with Mashaal to Jordan.
Thank you for helping anti-Islamists like myself demolish the myth that the Brotherhood is a “moderate” organization, Mr. Mashaal!
