• Click here for some great footage from Al-Jazeera of Iranians fighting with the Basiji in Tehran. You see the Basiji on the rooftops firing at the protestors and throwing rocks back at them. It simply amazes me that, even when faced with gunfire, the Iranians are still fighting back, throwing whatever they can up on the rooftop. It’s a futile effort (unless they manage to storm the building), but shows the passion the Iranian people have for freedom and justice.
• Andrew Sullivan links to this excellent article about how an Iranian under a fake name is reporting that “inside sources” say Rafsanjani is trying to dismantle the Office of Supreme Leader. Fascinating read. Rafsanjani reportedly wants to replace the Office of Supreme Leader with 3-4 leaders, with Khamenei possibly holding one of them just for the sake of stability.
