Confirmed: Iran Using Hezbollah Against Demonstrators

I’ve received confirmation from Iranian (and other) sources now that Lebanese Hezbollah members are being used by the Iranian regime to suppress dissent.

Here’s a report sent to me translated into English by an Iranian source:

The history of the use of foreign forces in military institutions like the RGC (Revolutionary Guards Corps) in Iran goes back to the Iran-Iraq war. In that time, Iraqi dissidents who were members of the Iraqi Islamic Revolutionary Council worked for Iran in the frame of an army called the 9th Badr Brigades. Of course, later on, Afghans and Lebanese nationals also began work for the Qods Corps. It has been a while that two brigades of the Qods Corps in the RGC have been stationed in Tehran. One of their bases is located next to the Seda and Sima (state TV) building. They are the remnants of the 9th Badr Brigade and have the responsibility to protect the Seda and Sima. The other brigade is stationed in Khomeini Street next to the Seyede-shohada Base as the reserve brigade in Tehran. Its members are Afghan and Lebanese nationals. Four years ago when state Security Forces became infamous in their black cars as Guidance Patrols, rumors of the use of foreign nationals in their ranks spread. These rumors became facts after a journalist in Tehran announced that he went to interview the patrols, but out of the four agents, only one spoke Farsi. After this incident, the commander of the SSF announced that security forces in the Greater Tehran District use these people who are from reserve forces in Khuzestan and they are used if necessary in other parts of the country. Of course, this official only confirmed all the rumors with his statement!

In the suppression after the elections in Tehran and other cities in Iran, rumors were once again confirmed that the RGC uses Arabs, especially Lebanese mercenaries, for crackdown on dissent.

A number of plainclothes agents attacked a staff building which belonged to Mussavi during the elections and closed it with a warrant from the Revolutionary Prosecutor. Of course the prosecutor has still not confirmed nor unconfirmed the operation but the staff building is still closed to this day and many of the people who were arrested in that incident are still in prison.

Those who occupied the staff building, the same people who started this bloody coup, were so joyous after occupying the building that they decided to take a few pictures as souvenirs. I was able to get a number of these pictures and I saw that one of the well-known members of Lebanon’s Hezbollah who is the brother of Ali Manif Ashmer, killed in a suicide bombing orchestrated by Hezbollah in Lebanon, was in the picture. Ali Manif Ashmer has been praised by Khamenie on several occasions.
