Fatah, like Hamas, still favors the destruction of Israel–they are just more politically saavy about it. I was actually in Bethlehem as this huge conference was held.

The Fatah leadership reiterated their goal of taking over all of Jerusalem, and praised the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade that has carried out countless terrorist attacks. Fatah also said that peace talks would only begin once Israel released all of the militants it has detained, an absolutely ridiculous demand that buries any chance for progress towards peace at the moment.

Although the leaders at the conference did not explicitly call for the destruction of Israel, they did continue to demand that Israel grant Palestinian refugees the right to return, which would end Israel as a Jewish state.
