Nov. 14 - Reports say that the Kurd political prisoner Shirkoo Moarefi was transferred to solitary confinement of the central prison of Saqez to be executed.
Nov. 14 - Reports from Saqez city say that some youths of this city have gathered under the name of the “Group of Saqez Youths” have planned a demonstration for today. The demonstrators will march from Hahloo Square towards the city’s central prison. Hatred of the regime has increased in most of Kurdistan’s cities following the execution of Ehsan Fatahian. Should Shirkoo also be executed, an uprising might occur in Kurdistan.
Nov. 12 - Grand Ayatollah Montazeri has declared the executioners of political prisoners criminals. In a new fatwa, Montazeri said that verdicts based on information or confessions obtained by torture are void and against Canon Law. He said, “those responsible for executing these orders and those who commanded getting these kinds of confessions are guilty and criminal based on law and canon law.”
