Approaching 22 Bahman
As Iran approaches the 22 Bahman celebrations of the Khomeini revolution in 1979, these events have been reported to World Threats.
Mullah Mohammad Dastqaib, a member of the Assembly of Experts, said, “IT is not right that only one person would be responsible for the country’s affairs. Three must be law and Supreme Leadership must be inserted in the law. These days all the country’s affairs are handled by RGC and SSF and people do not participate in the affairs and this is the source of divergence from 22nd Bahman of 1979.”
The uprising of the people of Lar is in its seventh day with attacks on government banks and bureaus. (Feb. 8)
The government has replaced plastic trash cans with metal trash cans to prevent the people form setting the trash cans on fire.
Mullah Larijani threatened, “anybody who takes a step against the system on 22nd Bahman will be decisively confronted. Judiciary along with SSF and security forces will decisively stand in front of anti-revolutionaries and dissidentsof Islamic Republic.”
The SSF is practicing maneuvers in various streets in Tehran. They are also bringing in additional forces from outside Tehran. Surveillance cameras have been installed in the main streets of Tehran. There is a rumor that streets other than for government sponsored demonstrations will be closed. Reporters will be transported to these events by government vehicles.
Posters of Khomeini, Ahmadinejad and Khamenei are being removed from the public streets to prevent their being burned.
Feb. 9 – The Lar’s uprising continues.
No fuel trucks from Shiraz and Bandar Abbas dares to get into Lar because people set fire to the trucks.
Though Latifi Loop is opened a few days ago but on Feb.7th at night people closed all the entrances and exits to the region and let no vehicle pass.
People stopped a bus at city’s entrance and after the passengers left the bus they sat fire to it.
On Feb.7th the road to Hormozgan Province in Larestan region was completely closed. A great number of Especial Forces were deployed there and at last they were able to push back the protesting crowd at 3.10 am and opened the road.
During the clashes between people and Especial Forces on Feb. 8th a great number of protestors were wounded. The forces prevented people from taking the injured protestors to hospital.
Local mercenaries wearing Especial Forces’ uniforms patrol in the city to identify and arrest the protesting people. At 2 am suppressive forces raided people’s homes and arrested more than 50 people.
On Feb.8th people sat fire to 4 motorcycles belonging to suppressive forces.
There was a curfew on Feb. 8th at night.
Since Monday morning some shops opened but the city is still uneasy. A resident said that arrests continue.
People have said that they will not stop until they reach their demands.
