Why North Korea May Have Sunk the South’s Ship

Internal strife is increasing in North Korea as the population gets more access to foreign media and becomes more aware (and angry) over their destitute situation. Kim Jong-Il has to be concerned about this, particularly with how it effects the process of handing power to his youngest son in the event of his demise. In its attempts to win the world’s attention, the DPRK has played almost all of its cards, leaving only extreme measures left to try. Attacking a South Korean ship may be one such measure.
