Qazvin – According to reports from the city of Qazvin, a protest gathering in the Yadegar Imam Stadium by about 8,000 workers in this city is still ongoing. These workers have placards which read:
- The workers of the Alborz China Factory demand that this factory get back to business
- The workers of the Alborz China Factory have not received their salaries for 7 months
- We have not received our bonuses for 2008 and 2009
They also chant slogans such as “Workers, unite, unite” and “Supporting workers is like supporting Islam”.
Shiraz – According to other reports from Shiraz, more than 2,000 workers of the Meat Company in this city and workers from other factories have staged a gathering outside the governor’s office. More than 1,000 workers of the Long Distance Communications Department who have not received their salaries for 13 months are participating in this gathering. A large number of security forces have surrounded this gathering.
In Tehran outside the Labor Ministry there is a gathering of workers. Security forces attacked two women and clashed with the protesters. People fought back with stones and chanted death to dictator and security forces retreated.
At about 5 pm in Isfahan, young people, workers and students surrounded the Dastgerd Command Center in this city and intended to seize it. Security forces clashed with the protesters and opened fire on them. The protesters disarmed 3 agents. Sixteen people were injured, arrested and taken to the hospital.
