Mexican Drug Gangs Linking Up with FARC
It was bound to happen. The Mexican drug lords are allying with the Colombian FARC narco-Marxist terrorist group, that has been collaborating with Al-Qaeda elements in Africa to deal drugs and is backed by Venezuela and Bolivia. Maybe now we’ll pay attention to the major war that has broke out in Mexico.
The former DEA operations chief says that the drug gangs want to buy “multiton quantitites of cocaine directly from South America.” The report says FARC is expanding into Peru to target the cocaine trade there.
The FARC leader, Raul Reyes, outlined to his military commanders a deal he made with Mexican drug dealers at his jungle hide-out in a letter originally obtained by Bloomberg news service and published earlier this year.
Reyes said the deal would bypass traditional middlemen and give the FARC a chance to double its profits.
Deals with drug cartels have enabled the FARC to earn at least a billion dollars in the past year, officials said.
