President Obama has alerted the US military to prepare to react to aggression from North Korea. This comes in the face of increasing tensions, such as in Richard’s last article. Furthermore, diplomatic efforts have been kicked up:

The administration said it endorsed President Lee Myung-bak’s demand that “North Korea immediately apologize and punish those responsible for the attack, and, most importantly, stop its belligerent and threatening behavior.”

The situation is getting worse, but it appears that it will stabilize soon. The diplomatic intervention of the US and the likely intervention by the People’s Republic of China could help defuse the situation.
