Top Advisor to Iranian Regime: Prepare for Nuclear War
A top advisor to Iran’s Defense Minister has written an article published by a website run by the MOIS about when Iran could use nuclear weapons against its enemies. Its publication of a state-connected website should be seen as an unofficial statement preparing the way for Iran to leave the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and officially develop nukes, a game plan I laid out here.
It says that if the U.S. “launches an unconventional attack,” a pretty vague term, then Iran must “respond with a nuclear strategy.” The regime will claim that it is not actually developing nukes now, and will only do so if it’s attacked, but the regime has consistently claimed the U.S. and its allies are attacking them. Also, if Iran should have contingency plans for nuclear warfare, then it must also develop the capacity to carry out those plans.
Remember, Ayatollah Mesbah-Yazdi, the radically radical cleric that is sometimes called the spiritual guide of Ahmadinejad, has also written that Iran should have nuclear weapons.
