These from our friends in Iran.

Tehran, Dec. 30, 2010. The price of each kg of fabric has risen 100% in Tehran’s Great Bazaar. Khabar Online site said that the price was 7000 tomans last week and is 14000 tomans now. People in fabric bazaar say that raise in cost of energy carriers and transportation price of goods are the main reason of this price rise.

Tehran, Dec. 30, 2010. News agency belonging to Cultural Heritage reported that the subsidy cuts had its deepest result on the energy carriers and this it the main element for decreasing pilgrimage to Mashed. Mohammad Ghaneie the director of The Union for Hotel Owners of Mashed announced the decrease and said: “if the government does not support us all of us will go bankrupt”. He added that average tickets sold before for flights to Mashed was 200 per day and now it is 4 per day. During last week 5 flights have been canceled and only 2 flights to Mashed were carried out. Ghaneie also said that even the number of those who went with private cars to Mashed has decreased.

Tehran, Dec. 30, 2010. Director of Iran Air Tour pointed to the rise in price of airplane’s fuel and said: If the price of ticket doesn’t raise these enterprises will face severe crisis. Seyed Mehdi Sadeghi the director said that to compensate for the current situation Airline Enterprises have to eliminate some flight routes. Sadeghi emphasized that if the ticket’s price does not rise these enterprises will have to close. He added that the price should rise at least 40% if they want to compensate for their expenses. He added that an airplane uses 5000 liters of fuel in each hour which costs 500,000 tomans.

Dec. 30, 2010. Tehran- one butter bar which cost 590 tomans before is now 700 tomans and cheese also costs more about 100 tomans. Price of chicken has risen during last two days. It was 2700 to 2800 kg and now it is sold at least 3400 tomans per kg. Price of tomato is sky rising and is not controllable. In Ponak region it is sold 4000 tomans per kg and its purchase has drastically decreased. There is no control over the prices and the government is just talking that it is supervising the prices. Price of gas oil is announced as 150 toman per liter but when you go by Internet to buy it, it is 350 tomans per liter. The cost of transferring a load to Tehran from north was 40000 tomans a few days ago but now it is doubled.

Qom, Dec.29, 2010. Yousef Sane’ie a source of canon law in Qom criticized judiciary behavior and said that solitary cell, long term decrees for keeping a prisoner in solitary cells and violation of inmates’ rights is not permitted by the canon law. He said: “you cannot put some one in a cell without air; you cannot violate the basic rights of a prisoner. A prisoner is a prisoner not some one that should be deprived from his or her basic rights. In my opinion cells in some places that are common now are not permitted by canon law…long term solitary cells are psychological torture and in my opinion it is not allowed by canon law”. He added: “it is not allowed not to give the prisoner a Koran, a newspaper and if he or she is sick he or she must be taken to doctor…nobody is allowed to commit an outrage against a Muslim and violate the cannon law. One cannot disgrace human beings that live together”.

Tehran, Dec.29, 2010. Though the defeated band of regime is completely yielding to it but still mullah Alam Al Hoda a member of regime’s Council of Experts said: “some tried to spread hypocrisy after the election in the society and to move in an invalid course. Those who sold Velayat-e-Faghieh to blasphemy are not returnable. Worried about the continuation of the uprising he added: “the ‘sedition’ is not over yet and confronting those who raise the sedition continues…some in the country are seeking to separate Velayat from the religion”.

Tehran, Dec.29, 2010. Ali Mohammad Dastqaib a member of Council of Experts pointed to kangaroo courts of Khamenei and said: “you find no righteous source of canon law who would say that one can make an accused to confess by force”.He added: “both in the Council and elsewhere we have said and we say that no source of canon law approves of the current situation because it is against the Koran, profit’s traditions and the Constitution. When on Qods day or after Ashura they attack Ghoba Mosque, people there can defend themselves and this is legitimate. Which source of canon law would give this decree to leave the offenders and to arrest and put the defenders on trial? No source would sign such decree.”
