Seif el-Islam Gaddhafi’s Speech

Posted by Matthew Avitabile On February - 20 - 2011

Muommar Gaddafi’s son Seif el-Islam Gaddhafi is speaking on Libyan state television right now. This comes as speculation is swirling that the dictator has feld the country and is on his way to Venezuela. There are also reports that the Libyan military is siding with the protesters and that the second-largest city, Benghazi, has fallen to the rebels.

It is now confirmed that the uprising has spread to the capital of Tripoli. With this most recent outbreak, it appears that the older Gaddhafi may see that the game is up.

In his son’s speech, he is explaining that if Libya is to be split up, it would be difficult to split the country’s oil wealth. Furthermore, he says that Libya is not Egypt or Tunisia. He has admitted that the military has made mistakes and that order is needed for the country right now.
