The Saudi Royal Family is unnerved. King Abdullah has just announced a massive $36 billion aid package that includes a 15 percent raise for government employees, unemployment aid and tuition assistance. It also promised to spend $400 billion by 2014 on improving the education and health systems and upgrading infrastructure, something protesters called for after flooding in Jeddah.
